Welcome to The Weekly Sceptic episode 98 This week Nick and Toby talk about: The Olympic opening ceremony and why the world’s biggest religion was mocked, in spite of artistic director Thomas Jolly wanting to make it ‘inclusive’. Why Suella Braverman isn’t standing in the Conservative leadership election and whether Kemi is the Tories’ best hope (Toby thinks so). The violent incident at Manchester Airport last week and whether the police officer at the centre of it was justified in his use of force. Tommy Robinson’s recent difficulties and the difficulty in deciding whether he‘s a free speech hero or a free speech grifter. And premium content on www.basedmedia.org, which includes: The attempt by Big Tech and the MSM to memory hole the assassination attempt on Trump and whether their mendacious tactics are likely to get Kamala Harris elected. Kamala’s attack on J.D. Vance for being ‘wierd’ and J.D.’s response. Everyone’s favourite section Peak Woke, in which Nick is unimpressed by a South African woman’s request for asylum on the grounds that she wants to continue her polygamous marriage in England and Toby regrets the RAF deciding to drop the name ‘Crusader’ from Squadron 14. And in the Based Department, it’s a toss up between Donald Trump and J.D Vance. 'Silenced' has been available online for a while, TR told the judge that he could not prevent this since it was already in USA and had been screened there (the audience included General Flynn). Hope not Hate encouraged the previous Attorney General to initiate this latest contempt case well before last Saturday, quite a 'tell' I believe. As I watched it being shown in Trafalgar Square I assumed there would be (even more) trouble but the terrorism act detention was quite a surprise. The 'financial fraud' was 'mortgage fraud' by his brother in law, he accepted blame after his wife was threatened with prosecution too (Lord Mandelson and millions of self cert mortgage applicants too of course). The people who signed the NDAs (why?) had already lost their careers since the school was closed to preserve the narrative. Ezra Levant's reports on Rebel News about TR's terrorism detention include a clip of Yvette (house flipper) Cooper on 13 March 2018 in UK Parliament demanding of YouTube that TR be censored and trying to pin the Finsbury Park Mosque (of Abu Hamza fame) attack on TR. Naz (lie back and think of diversity) Shah piles in too. Perhaps Mrs Balls will choose her enemies and her friends more carefully in future but probably not before the crocodile eats her.

Hi guys, great podcast! I liked the discussion about the Opening Ceremonies and how Toby likened it to Tom Holland's theory that Wokism is a bastard child of Christianity. I think this is right, and Nick is also right, that it is Evil, the 2 are not exclusive. In fact CS Lewis defines goodness as "itself" and badness (or evil) as "only spoiled goodness". In the Christian worldview Evil cannot create anything new but only ruin the good things God has created, including a healthy compassion for the marginalised which after Christendom becomes worship of the marginalised as seen in "Wokism".
