Dalrymple lives in post-Raj splendor outside Delhi in a huge house crammed with servants. Perhaps he allows himself the odd frisson of white guilt as the bearer brings him another chota peg on the verandah. I enjoyed 'The Anarchy' particularly because I knew I wasn't supposed to be admiring the balls and enterprise of the EIC. Another Trinity Man, I hope he enjoyed the recent excellent DS article featuring the appalling current Master.

Hello Toby and Nick. Not sure if I’m being stupid here but I’ve only got the free content available to me, with the episode fading out before Based Dept (my favourite section). I’m logged in and everything, with the word “premium” in brackets next to the podcast title. Has there been a mistake with the uploads?

I wonder if the Conservatives fail to put up their best candidates for London mayor because they are afraid of someone building up a strong power base , as Boris Johnson did - a case of putting party politics before country .

Apart from the penalty for apostasy there's the issue of circumcision (possibly a fate worse than death). Female as well as male I suppose in the interests of equality. 'Scholars differ' on the necessity apparently. I wonder what their takes are on circumcising 'transgenders'.

Please employ a black-belt wokester to explain the prevailing progressive orthodoxy, predict who will be cancelled next and they/them could also be the arbiter of who wins the based section.
